This updated version of a booklet first published in 2002 aims to summarise key lessons from the current evidence base to inform the work of those working in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS).
Drawing on the Evidence has been compiled by Dr Miranda Wolpert, Professor David Cottrell, Professor Peter Fonagy, Dr Peter Fuggle, Dr Mary Target, Dr Jeanette Phillips, Dr Steve Pilling and Dr Samuel Stein.
Funding for publication and distribution was provided by the Care Services Improvement Partnership (CSIP).
Work is now underway to explore how best to develop materials for other groups of people with an interest in this area, including those who might use services and those who might commission them, to try to help inform them of the evidence base whilst always bearing in mind the limitations and complexities of our current knowledge.
Comments and suggestions for this work would be appreciated, as would assistance in involving young people either in developing or reviewing drafts of materials produced.
Please contact the CAMHS Evidence Based Practice Unit (020 7443 2218) if you would like to be involved, or to give any feedback on this booklet.
